Getting Found on Google
Making sure Google can find your site, understand what you do and where you work, and put you in front of people searching for it.
Most sites are not outranked, they are unreadable
Before you can lose to a competitor you have to be in the race. We routinely audit sites where a staging robots.txt shipped to production and blocked everything, where every page canonicalises to the homepage, or where pagination creates ten thousand near-duplicate URLs that consume the entire crawl budget. These are not ranking problems. They are plumbing problems, and no amount of content fixes them.
Structured data is how you speak to a machine in its own language
Schema.org markup does not directly boost rankings, and anyone claiming otherwise is guessing. What it does is remove ambiguity: it states plainly that this is a business, this is its address, these are its hours, this is the answer to that question. That precision is what earns rich results, and rich results are what earn the click.
Core Web Vitals are a real ranking input and a much bigger conversion input
The ranking effect is modest and everyone argues about its size. The conversion effect is not modest and nobody argues about it. A page that becomes interactive in one second converts materially better than the same page at four seconds. We optimise for the second reason and take the first as a bonus.
Getting Found on Google: common questions
How is this different from what my current developer does?
Most web developers ship a site that works and consider the job finished. Technical SEO asks a different question: can a crawler reach every important page in as few hops as possible, does it understand what each page is, and is anything actively preventing indexation? That is an audit discipline, not a build discipline.
Do I need this if my site is brand new?
Especially if it is new. Technical decisions made at build time -- URL structure, rendering strategy, internal linking -- are cheap to get right on day one and expensive to change once you have links and rankings pointing at the old structure.
